Within what art genre did Warhol work? Pop art.

Define the genre? He made movies, was a painter, and he also did printmaking.

During what years was he alive? 1928-19987

Post 2 samples of his art. Answer the following questions for each piece.

Describe the color that he utilizes. Does he use any particular color scheme?

What do you notice about the artwork itself?

On the Campbell's Soup can he used red for the top part and white for the bottom part. He uses the analogous color scheme. I notice that he made it look like the actual soup can.

For the Coca-Cola painting, he uses all shades of green. He uses the monochromatic color scheme. I notice that he stuck with on color.

Blog Week 8

Why must designers pay close attention to how color is utilized within a composition? Designers have to pay close attention to how color is utilized because they don't want any colors that aren't matching with other colors.

Why is the color wheel an important tool for graphic designers? The color wheel is an important tool because the designers don't want their colors to be off with what they are designing.


Briefly describe how we "see" the color of an object? We can "see" the color of an object when the sun hits the object we are looking at.


Find an example of neutral colors utilized within a design (hint: google poster design). Near the sample, discuss why you feel the designer included neutral colors within the composition.




I think the designer included neutral colors within the composition because you don't see colors like these on the color wheel. These colors aren't what you see everyday. These colors are very unique.

What did he do for the computer industry? He showed us how much easier a computer can be.

How did this man impact the graphic design industry? He impacted the graphic design industry by making a computer that works twice as fast.
